Is it already October 10th???

Hello again! So much has happened in the last couple months! Where to begin?

Tim and Cyrus both started school. Cyrus LOVES it, in fact he got to be KING for the day in his class on the first day of school. He's doing really well, so we hope he keeps that up for the next 16 years :)

Tim likes school pretty well, although it has been quite an adjustment to go back to school in the mornings and work at night and never seeing the family or having relaxing time.

Laura has picked up a few hours a week at Tim's work..Anderson Seed and Garden. She's really liking it thus far. If you can believe it, she's already been getting Christmas decorations out at the store and lighting trees.

Sonora and Macey go to a friend's house two mornings a week while Laura goes to work, and then Laura races home to pick up the friends' kids and watches them those evenings. It's been a bit of an adjustment, but seems to be working out okay for now.

One exciting thing that happened yesterday was the chopping down of four huge spruce trees just to the south of our house. They've been dying/shedding needles like crazy the past few months, so our neighbors decided to cut them down. Here's a picture of Cyrus by one of them.

It was sad to see them all go, but it will make our kitchen a lot sunnier...especially in the winter, which is when we could use a little more heat and sunshine!

We have a tree in the backyard that's going the same way. I guess next spring we'll be buying a few more trees.

Our garden is pretty much done. I've still been picking tomatoes...haven't watered them since August, but they've taken their sweet time turning red. I stayed up one night till 2 a.m. making spaghetti sauce and decided (like I did the last time I bottled tomatoes) that it's just not worth the time and effort. Ragu tastes just as good, and I can get it 99 cents a jar at caselot sales. Oh well. At least I know how to can and I have the equipment, just in case America ever decides to be self-sufficient. Here's a picture of Sonora, Macey, and some of our tomatoes and pumpkins.

Life is crazy and busy, but very fulfilling. Conference was incredible, as always, and we're going to try hard to read at least 3 verses of scripture with the kids each day. They are so amazing with what they can learn and retain and feel. The kids have been learning a song called "I Have Faith" for primary, and they talk a lot about having faith. Macey has even picked up on the song, singing, "I have fay!!!"

They are such sweet little people (most of the time) and we're happy to have them here with us.

Hope everyone's having a fabulous fall! Until next time.....Au revoir Peewee!
